  • My wife’s clients brother was a co creator of sonic the hedgehog, he recently passed and her client inherited his personal sega Saturn. They gave it to me because, well, they have the real valuable and memorable things. I now have Sonics creators sega Saturn. Crazy world we live in

  • I know a reason the ps won against the saturn and surprisingly no one ever talks about it. It was a chip you were installing for 50€ In your local electronic shop and after that the games were costing 10€ instead of 60€. A chop that surprisingly was available fir pa2 since day 1....

  • pretty much from I gathered , it was all Sega OF Japans fault. for the Genesis they had hired a high powewed American CEO and let him control a lot. i think he had worked at Matel. i forgot his name tho.

  • I was a long time ago the happiest boy since I was 11 as SEGA came to Germany. 🇩🇪🎉😁🤗🎮🎭📺👍 Sonic the Hedgehog & 3 Games in one : Super Hang on, Columns & Soccer, was my very first Games when my Father gave it to me on Christmas 1994. 🎄🤗🎮📺🏍️ This was the nicest experience as I became an teenager. During this time I went to middle school in a international high school in Germany.☮️

  • I went to a FuncoLand with my dad in 1995, the Playstation had just come out and I was really excited for the Saturn. I remember vividly, the guy working there said to my us "the Saturn will fail, you want the Sony" I was playing the Saturn kiosk and had my mind set... We left with the playstation, Crash Bandicoot, Jumping Flash and Twisted Metal, I forever thank you FuncoLand guy it was just cars killing cars!!!

  • I would love to see how SEGA would have ended up if their console was succesfull in the 90s, i Wonder how strong it would be and what games it would be on it now, well i guess i’ll never find out unless i get the power to jump to another timeline where it was succesful XD.

  • I used to keep multiple consoles for each generation. I started with NES, then my got a Genesis and SNES at release. I sort of gave up on Nintendo after that because of its well-documented legal bullying of 3rd party developers and its rather strict censorship policies at the time. I had a Sega CD which had a few really great games on it (the two Lunar games and Sonic CD being notable examples). The 32X was actually my first console purchase as an adult. I was also one of the people totally caught off-guard by the Saturn release. At the time Saturn had no games I was interested in, so I waited. Being a long-time Final Fantasy fan, I decided to get a PS1 when I heard that FF7 would be a console exclusive. It was well worth the investment. Later I got a Dreamcast which was more successful than Saturn and had some exclusive games I really liked. Marvel vs Capcom and Dino Crisis were good, also a couple decent Star Wars games came out on Dreamcast during the years when the prequel trilogy was getting released. Eventually Dreamcast faded and I got PS2 and an Xbox, followed by PS3 and X360. I didn't buy PS4 at first because of real-life things and the fact that the PS3 still had some life to it at the time, I felt that upgrading wasn't necessary. I grabbed a PS4 Pro when FF15 and Final Fantasy World released.

  • I asked my father to buy me a new game console which is Sega MegaDrive (Genesis). In my country (not UK) Sega is much popular than SNES. When my father and I reach the store, the salesman promote to my father to buy a Sega Saturn which we never heard of at £399 which far more expensive than PS1 at £2xx. I never heard of Sony game console too so I’m okay with Sega Saturn. If I knew back then I probably tell my father to just buy a PS1 instead of Sega Saturn. But nevertheless I never regret owning a Saturn, but too bad it’s stop working after 5 years.

  • They did the same as ps4 pro did. A middletier upgrade. They should instead of making all those crappy attachements a new console genesis2.0 or genesis pro, more powerful with cd and new games. This would had consolidate their position in the market plus acquiring alot more customers. And from this middletier succes they could had prepared a more robust saturn launch campaign. Perhaps in this way things could had take a worst future for ps1. And now at 2020 we could have three big console company: sega sony mxsft

  • I got a Sega Saturn for Christmas when it first came out. Loved it, but didn't have any games for the first couple of days, so we just fooled around with the CD player screen (it was also my family's first CD player). My brother gave ours away years ago, but I just recently got another one off of Craigslist for only 20 bucks! Unfortunately, Saturn games are super expensive now :( I only have 4: Dark Saviour, Sim City, Cyber Speedway, and Solar Eclipse.

  • I think my friend may have gotten the Sega Saturn around launch. Even though I was a Sega Genesis owner and fan, I wasn't aware that it had launched. He may have gotten it later though. It's hard to remember as he is literally the only person that I knew who had a Sega Saturn. There were some pretty cool games related to Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengeance. He also played this game that I've been trying to recall... "Three Dirty Dwarves" It was 'Three' something something and they were either Dwarves or well I don't think Elves, but some sort of fantasy thing. I don't think it was a fantasy game or at least I remember one them wielding a shotgun

Eventually I found a place where I could rent games so I could enjoy some perls that came out. Only problem was that most games were Japonese... Need I say anything else? Not long after that I ended up with a N64... At least had friends that could lend me one or two games.
